A+ Hair & Nails consists of all-natural ingredients such as collagen, grape seed extract , nettle , as well as vitamins and minerals such as biotin and zinc - all with a specific thought of function for the good of hair and nails that can benefit the natural growth process.

Bamboo shoots , collagen and MSM are particularly rich in organic sulphur. Sulfur, in turn, is an important component of keratin – the basic element of hair. Down at the hair root, the newly formed protein is still very soft, but as the cells divide and it is filled with more keratin from below, the hair shaft is pushed up above the skin's surface where the protein then coagulates and becomes resistant fibers. The more keratin that is formed at the root, the thicker the hair shaft becomes.

Type I collagen is mainly found in large quantities in the skin, hair and nails. As we age, the body's production of collagen decreases. When the body's existing collagen is broken down, it can show itself in different ways, including thinning of the hair. This breakdown process starts already at the age of 25 and the amount of collagen decreases by about one percent every year thereafter.

Human hair and nails mainly consist of the protein keratin, the same substance that builds up a large part of, for example, horns, hooves and claws in other mammals. Your body uses several amino acids to build keratin - some of which are found in collagen, most notably proline. Ingesting collagen should therefore provide your body with the building blocks it needs to create hair ^{[ 3 , 4 ]} .

MSM or meylsulfonylmethane is a popular dietary supplement used for the maintenance of normal keratin levels in hair, skin and nails and is the form of sulfur found in supplements. Sulfur makes up 0.25 percent of a person's total body weight and is found in all tissues and especially in those rich in protein such as skin, hair and nails. MSM has been shown to increase the amount of both collagen and keratin in the body. These are two important nutrients in the production of new hair and MSM can therefore make hair stronger and make it look healthier ^{[ 1 ]} .

Bamboo extract contains plenty of silicon, which is needed to be able to build up and strengthen proteins such as creatine, collagen and elastin, which our nails and hair largely consist of. Hair, nails and skin are very rich in silicon and in a scientific study oral intake of choline stabilized silicon was found to have a positive effect on tensile strength including elasticity and breaking load and resulted in thicker hair ^{[ 5 ]} .

Vitamin C has many functions in the body and is, among other things, an important antioxidant that helps protect cells against oxidative stress ^{[ 6 ]} . Vitamin C also contributes to the normal formation of collagen, which is an important component for, among other things, skin, hair and nails ^{[ 6 ]} .

Biotin , zinc and selenium contribute, among other things, to maintaining normal hair, while zinc and selenium contribute to maintaining normal nails ^{[ 6 ]} .

The nettle is one of our healthiest and most nutritious plants, and grape seed extract contains, above all, so-called proanthocyanidins, which have a strong antioxidant effect ^{[ 7 ]} .
